Daily Kos Asks Mitt: Are You Happy Sally Ride’s Partner Is Shat Upon?

For once I agree with Daily Kos.

Actually, that’s a bit of a stretch.  I agree with them more than that, they just take points I agree with and blast it out of the stratosphere with exaggerated silliness.

Not today, though.  Today, they’ve hit a home run.

Today, upon news that Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, had passed away, Mitt Romney called her one of America’s “great pioneers.” I have a question for Romney, a question shared by others:

Are you satisfied, Mitt, that Ride’s partner of 27 years, Tam O’Shaughnessy, will be denied federal benefits because of the Defense of Marriage Act?

Of course, that’s asking a question in a country where at age 18 you can pick a President, sign a legal contract, and fight for your country, but you have to wait three years to take a drink legally, so you do the math.
