Probably not so much a strawman as not having any idea what the hell we actually want. Any liberals I’ve explained it to seem really surprised. It’s not a strawman.  That’s stupid.  If you believe it’s a strawman, then explain all the laws like DOMA and all the clamoring for a constitutional amendment to define “marriage” as between a man and a woman.  It ain’t liberals pushing that. The picture is dead-on.  Conservatives hate big government right up to the point where they can use it to protect conservatism, then it’s just peachy keen.
