The Way It Is, Like It Or Not...
"The bulletin refers directly to print plans made available by Defense Distributed—nonprofit creators of a 3D gun called “The Liberator.” Although the U.S. State Department forced Defense Distributed to quit sharing the plan online, more than 100,000 of the plans were downloaded before the file sharing was stopped.
In light of this, the DHS bulletin concludes by indicating that limiting access to such firearms “may be impossible."
"Gun crime has plunged in the United States since its peak in the middle of the 1990s, including gun killings, assaults, robberies and other crimes, two new studies of government data show. Yet few Americans are aware of the dramatic drop, and more than half believe gun crime has risen, according to a newly released survey by the Pew Research Center."
Let’s check in and see how those strict gun control laws are working in Chicago, shall we?
from NBC News (emphasis mine):
A 10-year-old boy was shot Wednesday in Chicago toward the end of a day that saw at least three people slain and 20 others wounded, police and local media said.
The boy was standing on North Waller Avenue just before 8 p.m. when a group of men on a nearby street corner began fighting, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.
During the melee, one of the men pulled out a handgun and opened fire, Alfaro said.
“I’m assuming he was shooting at the other individuals,” he added. “He wasn’t shooting at the child.”
The boy was wounded in the right buttock and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Alfaro said. No information about his condition was available early Thursday, though Alfaro said he believed the child was “stable.”
Chicago detectives were continuing their investigation Thursday, and no arrests had been made, Alfaro said.
The city’s first 80-degree day in seven months brought a wave of violence, with an average of one per hour at one point, NBCChicago.com reported.
Yeah, NBC, it was totally just the weather. It definitely had nothing to do with gangs. Or maybe it did! Maybe that’s what the problem is in Chicago. I shouldn’t just be a “gun free” zone. It also needs to be a “gang free” zone.
There. Problem solved.
Your “You Picked The Wrong Guy To Rob” video of the day…
A New Orleans man decided to fight back against a shotgun-wielding attacker who attempted to rob him at around 5 a.m. Saturday morning. Instead of hoping for the best and following the criminal’s orders to give up his cash, the would-be victim yanked the shotgun from the robber’s hands and sent him running for his life.
The man was approached moments later by two black men, one of which was apparently the attacker, in a black four-door sedan, according to police. Hilariously, the driver of the car reportedly tried to negotiate with the man, saying “give me my gun back and I’ll give you your phone that you dropped.”
The man wasn’t about to accept that “deal.” An New Orleans Police Department spokesman told WWL.com that he instead used the shotgun to shatter the rear windshield of the vehicle. For the second time, the criminal fled from his “victim.” It was unclear whether the shotgun was loaded.
Gungrabbers would find this dishonorable and believe the honorable thing to do would be to become a victim.
